Description:
There are at least 5 versions of Tomb of Horrors
This is the DM Rewards 4E Tomb of Horrors that got sent out in the mail to DCI members in 2010. It is 9th level and will take about 5 sessions to complete. It attempts to be a total conversion of the original 1978 Tomb of Horrors. It is just as deadly as the original. Even if you've only read the original and never played it, play it! It becomes so much more when you are actually in it. This is a thinking person's module.

Somewhere under a lost and lonely hill of grim and foreboding aspect lies a labryinthine crypt. It is filled with terrible traps and not a few strange and ferocious monsters to slay the unwary. It is filled with rich treasures both precious and magical, but in addition to the aforementioned guardians, there is said to be a demi-lich who still wards his final haunt. Only the large and well prepared parties of the bravest and strongest should even consider the attempt to enter this crypt.

All players should make Essentials only characters that are simple to play, and must bring a backup character to the game since their first one may die. The DM should pull no punches.

I just took a look at that last encounter and you were nice to us too John...that skeleton should have come with us on the last teleport. :)

On the subway John was telling me the Paladin releasing the skeletal guardian was one of his favorite moments as a DM ever!

Apr 4, 2011 11:02 AM - James L: Matt G, work sucks, and I think we have all had similar situations. I think everyone would be flexible allow a missed session. It just sucks to miss the first part. It would be fair to give your spot to someone who could make every session, but I doubt there is anyone available.
Apr 4, 2011 11:00 AM - James L: I figured it out, on the Event itself, it stated that the game started on April 1st, but the first session wasn't until April 5th. Once the first date passes, no one can drop out. People are allowed to drop out up until the first session. Now if John wants to allow new people to join, he has to move the RSVP cutoff date into the future.

Leaders are only Warpriest and Sentinel, controllers are only Mage and Hunter. I think there are like 4 striker classes though.
