Description:
Welcome, Welcome, One and All! Welcome to the Carnival!

Pathfinder RPG Adventure: Carnival of Tears is a low-level, event-based adventure written by Nicolas Logue and Tim Hitchcock. Two of Paizo's masters of the gruesome. This is one of the most popular and highest rated modules of all time from Paizo. Come see why Paizo has such rabid fans.

You, the Players, have come to enjoy the local Carnival in Falcon's Hollow. While enjoying contests and fun events, you start to notice odd things happening. Can you figure out what sinister things are happening at the Carnival and stop them before it is too late?

May 27, 2011 2:18 PM - Jensen: Thank you Jason for an amazing adventure, experience! That was one of the best all around gaming experiences for me. Great Team, dynamic and personalities. Cant wait to play another game with this group!
May 27, 2011 10:43 AM - James L: Jason, thanks. Are you going to be able to play during the summer? Do you have any requests of adventures you always wanted to play?
May 27, 2011 9:48 AM - Scott p: I'm so sad it's over.
!Backflip!
k-k-kill th-the children!
KLUG!
hush puppies.
I lay down on the coals.
May 27, 2011 9:20 AM - Josh M.: That was so awesome. Great DM, great players, just a fun adventure all the way through. Two thumbs up--would see again.
May 27, 2011 12:49 AM - Jason P.: This was a really, really great group. I wish I could vote for everyone. I hope everyone had a good time, and I hope I was able to make it alive for you and your characters. Time for a nice, long summer break from DMing!
May 26, 2011 5:54 PM - James L: I might not be able to make it. I might be reeeeally late though. Sorry everyone.
May 20, 2011 2:20 PM - Jason P.: Let's keep it Thursday. We know for sure everyone can make it then.
May 19, 2011 12:56 PM - Jensen: I can do next Wed. the 25th
May 19, 2011 11:22 AM - James L: Was I the one holding up Wednesday? Can we do Wednesday next week? The 25th?
May 16, 2011 11:06 PM - Jason P.: Gentle reminder that we are meeting Tuesday this week.
May 16, 2011 5:57 PM - Jason P.: Oh, I have a idea how you spent that 6 hours...
May 16, 2011 3:46 PM - Gary: Can't the story be more like "Thorgrim has no need of girlie dolls, here fellow adventurers, you take them while I go to the ale house and get drunk for 6 hours..."
May 14, 2011 1:34 AM - Jason P.: You'll especially like the story of how the party performed underwhelmingly in all the games, then stole all of the carnival dolls off your unconscious body so they could buy their items.
May 13, 2011 7:14 PM - Gary: Hey all, thanks, will do, Tuesday is cool for me. Sorry again about that, can't wait to hear all the stories at next week's session. Cheers.
May 13, 2011 1:34 AM - Jason P.: Sorry to miss you Gary, hope everything is ok. You all earned enough xp to hit lvl 6, so go ahead and level your stuff before next session. Are you good for Tuesday, Gary?
May 12, 2011 2:11 PM - Gary: Hey guys, really sorry to do this, but we got some pretty bad family news today, so I will need to stay home with the Mrs tonight. Good luck at the carnival, Thorgrim's rage be with you. Cheers and sorry again.
May 7, 2011 1:14 PM - Jensen: cant wait to get back to the carnival this week
May 5, 2011 8:17 PM - Jason P.: Beer helps. Lots of beer helps more.
May 5, 2011 3:43 PM - Scott p: best session ever.
May 4, 2011 11:57 PM - Graham: that was a blast! I misread my calender I can play on the 17th, or 18th.
May 4, 2011 7:44 AM - Jason P.: Thanks to all who have sent me their characters. Sorry I haven't had time to reply, but I'm working up little nuggets for you guys to play with. James, may I get your info again? I accidentally deleted it. Looking forward to playing!
May 3, 2011 2:41 PM - James L: I would like to bring my daughter to the carnival, if I had a daughter.
Apr 28, 2011 2:14 PM - Jason P.: Anything you guys want! Great buds, strangers, whatever.
Apr 28, 2011 10:30 AM - Josh M.: do the PCs already know each other and travel together, or do they show up separately to the carnival and events kind of throw them together?
Apr 28, 2011 7:00 AM - Jason P.: Bah, cut off. Point is, have fun. Feel free to break the usual adventurer mold and imagine up different kinds of backgrounds.
Apr 28, 2011 6:59 AM - Jason P.: Also, to give people a heads up, this adventure is really different than what you might be used to. It's super open-ended and light-hearted, at least to start. It begins in a carnival, and PCs are there just to have some fun, let their hair down, and win fabulous prizes (including magic items!). To that end, if people want to imagine that they are accompanied by spouses, children, family members, squires, or what have you, go for it. And they won't exist just to get slaughtered, either - I'll wo
Apr 28, 2011 6:54 AM - Jason P.: Looks like we have our table pretty much set. Thanks to James who wrote me about his warlock, I'd like to hear about everyone else's character. Doesn't have to be a novel or anything, just some little bits and bobs that give me a good visual, and give me fodder to put into the sessions.
Apr 27, 2011 10:58 PM - Josh M.: what is this, i don't even
Apr 27, 2011 5:43 PM - James L: That link is a little NSFW, but not extremely. It's funny how he looks like a fat cow.
Apr 27, 2011 5:34 PM - James L: SNEAK ATTACK! http://bulletinnews.info/images/last-tango-in-paris-butter-scene.png
Apr 26, 2011 12:49 PM - Jensen: Thanks guys. Can Wait
Apr 25, 2011 9:08 PM - Jason P.: Wednesday it is.
Apr 25, 2011 2:18 PM - Graham: works for me
Apr 25, 2011 2:04 PM - James L: I can make all those date changes. I'm all for being flexible.
Apr 25, 2011 1:42 PM - Jensen: So I have a problem with one date: May 5th. Anyway we can switch it to Wednesday, May 4th? I really want to play this adventure with you guys. I am cool with all other dates and with the 19 change. Let me know if this is possible otherwise i will be bowing out.
Apr 19, 2011 5:09 PM - Josh M.: Assuming I get to play, I wouldn't have a problem with the switch of dates
Apr 19, 2011 4:53 PM - Gary: Ok, I'm signed up on the assumption all you good folk can find it in your hearts to change the 5/19 date to Mon, Tues or Wed that week instead. Bring on Thud the Indominable!
Apr 18, 2011 5:00 PM - Jason P.: I'm ok with that, but let's see who is at the table at our first session and hash it out then. Much more efficient, I think.
Apr 18, 2011 2:32 PM - Gary: Jason et al, can we change the 5/19 date to 5/18 - if that works for the guys already signed up, then I'm in!
Apr 15, 2011 2:48 PM - Gary: P.S. James, how could you not know about the butter scene in last Tango in Paris?!? Waffles anyone?
Apr 15, 2011 2:47 PM - Gary: Ah, I might have a problem with May 19 as getting a flight that night - I can do Mon - Wed that week though?
Apr 15, 2011 1:24 PM - Jason P.: 5th lvl is fine.
Apr 15, 2011 10:55 AM - James L: Jason, what level does it turn out to be? I only put 5th because that was the 3.5 level.
Apr 14, 2011 1:35 PM - Jason P.: @yahoo.com
Apr 14, 2011 1:34 PM - Jason P.: Now that that's settled, on to the fun stuff! If I'm going to spend multiple sessions with these characters, I want to get to know them. If you end up playing, please send me 6-7 sentences with some notes on your character's background and personality. Feel free to invent world details and what not. And feel free to give me "My nose is large. Man, is it huge." as some of my friends do if you are stuck. I always use PC's backgrounds in my games, though, so make it good :D. Email me at jmperez226
Apr 14, 2011 1:24 PM - Jason P.: Going once, going twice... sold. Ok, date and time are set, with a gentleman's agreement to wait a bit for latecomers. James tells me the Cafe Au Bon Gout on 30th and 5th is the place to be, so that's where it will be.
Apr 13, 2011 8:38 PM - James L: I'll never see "Brown Butter" sauce on a menu again and not think of this.
Apr 13, 2011 5:03 PM - Jason P.: Ok, 6:30. I'd rather not start too late, but I will go with the group. But are the dates ok?
Apr 13, 2011 4:30 PM - James L: I googled Last Tango Butter. Oh no!
Apr 13, 2011 4:29 PM - Jason P.: Ok, so I put it up for the 4 Thursdays in May starting at 6:15. Is that my final answer, people? The only place I know to post it is Sony, but I imagine you guys know some alternate places that don't close this early.
Apr 13, 2011 4:23 PM - Scott p: do they sell butter at Au bon gout?
I'm in btw, but what are the dates?
Apr 13, 2011 4:02 PM - Capt_Dan: I don't want to get all European on you - or go into details - but that is NOT the most famous element of that film...
Apr 13, 2011 3:45 PM - James L: You want to sit in a bathtub naked with me? http://img.listal.com/image/532006/600full-last-tango-in-paris-screenshot.jpg
Apr 13, 2011 3:42 PM - Gary:
Apr 13, 2011 3:40 PM - Gary: I can make the first two sessions you have up. Any week days are generally fine for me. James, thanks man, would really enjoy one more tango in paris with you all.
Apr 13, 2011 1:46 AM - Jason P.: Thursdays are fine for me.
Apr 12, 2011 11:50 PM - James L: I thought originally Thursdays worked for you right? Can you do all Thursdays?
Apr 11, 2011 9:30 AM - Jason P.: Oh no, we'll lose Gary if we don't play soon! James, I appreciate the offer. Would you mind flipping the days then, and I'll take the days meant for Encounters and run a 4 session Carnival? I'm trying to reschedule the days on the site, but either I'm retarded or this thing is hard to work. Or maybe both.
Apr 10, 2011 2:27 PM - Gary: I'm in if this ends before June. Unfortunately it's back to the UK for me after May 31 so this would be my final session :-(
Apr 10, 2011 12:37 PM - James L: The Carnival, of Tears, is my priority. I'll try to reschedule whatever obligations I have around the carnival. Jason, you pick what works best for you. I'll work around your schedule.
Apr 9, 2011 11:45 PM - Ross H: June would be better for me - my preference would probably be for a couple long Saturdays, but could do Wednesdays easily enough!
Apr 8, 2011 3:23 PM - Scott p: i like april to may myself, i think i can't do weekends really at all.
Apr 8, 2011 2:11 PM - Jason P.: I have three choices with the people that have signed up so far, since April probably won't work: reschedule for Wednesdays in June, do a couple of long Saturdays in June, or flip with James' Dark Sun and do Wednesdays in May. My birthday is in June and I might be traveling, so I'd really prefer flipping. But if that game is set with all of its players, please let me know which of the other options works better for people.
Apr 8, 2011 12:05 PM - Jensen: Thursdays are good. Saturday/Sunday long sessions I prefer, however I can make anything work to play this campaign.
Apr 8, 2011 11:55 AM - James L: You know... I would happily delay my DMing of the Dark Sun encounters to play in Carnival of Tears.
Apr 8, 2011 11:50 AM - Graham: I wouldn't be able to convince the wife to two nights a week every week.
Apr 7, 2011 3:11 PM - Jason P.: I'd rather do it sooner than later because I don't know how busy my summer will be. James, are you concerned you can't make your Encounters game and this one?
Apr 7, 2011 1:51 PM - James L: Can this wait to June?
Apr 7, 2011 9:10 AM - Scott p: Thursdays are fine for me, Tuesdays and wednesdays are better, but seriously I'd walk a mile if jason is DMing.
Apr 4, 2011 12:53 PM - Jason P.: Ok. Are Thursdays good days for this?
Apr 4, 2011 11:55 AM - Graham: SWEET
Apr 4, 2011 10:46 AM - James L: Very interested!
Apr 3, 2011 3:38 AM - Jason P.: Alrighty, someone's going to have to help me set this up so it makes sense. But this will answer the request on the front page for Carnival of Tears, 4e style. It looks like a sick murderous carnival adventure - one of my favorites! I'm open to date, place, whatever. I'll do all the conversions and everything.
