Aug 24, 2011 12:04 AM - Deirdre: Thanks so much for running Brian! I had a great time and I really enjoyed playing with everyone!
Aug 23, 2011 12:51 AM - Brian Peters: Way to do it group, you finished the minor quest, Thaw Moradim's Temple, as well as the major quest, Stop The Endless Winter. You also uncovered the story of the Winter King, a minor quest I threw in. You also receive another 950 xp each, which gives you a total of 2175 for this adventure. You looted 510 gp in gold, gems, and the value of the two keys, as well as 450 cp and 255sp from the Cairn... You were also awrded 500 gp from the merchants and Lord of Fellcrest as reward for freeing them...
Aug 23, 2011 12:51 AM - Brian Peters: from their endless winter! The town is agreeing to help repair The Tower of Waiting on an island in the center of the river, and in about a month, you will have a fine home in the town of Fellcrest. You also possess the ritual scrolls which will transport you back to the cairn any time you wish. (WHY you would go back, is beyond me!) The Lord also promises a level 4 common magic item to any character who did not receive an object from raiding the Winter king's Cairn as well...
Aug 22, 2011 3:42 PM - Brian Peters: Getting ready.... Is this the week you discover the winter king, or will you uncover more of his secrets, for the showdown next week? Will Binx finally loot the treasures she's been dreaming of, or will she wander fruitlessly through these dark halls, ganking everything she sees? Will the Githzeria psion every get over his contact high, or will that patchouli-scented druid turn him into a full-on stoner? And just WHY does the palladin keep licking his sword....?
Aug 22, 2011 3:41 PM - Tracy: It is a fairly impressive sword....if it finally comes time for an orgy, I may be licking it too.
Aug 20, 2011 3:34 PM - Tracy: I'm glad you're having as much fun as we are! :)
Aug 20, 2011 7:42 AM - Brian Peters: guys... I just want to say I have had a LOT fo fun dming this game, and that this was a DREAM group of players to work with... as my first time dming a campaign, it has me PSYCHED to do it again... and this is from someone that didn't think i would LIKE DMing in LFR in the first place! Thanks! -ps... I really hope we don't TPK in the finale of our little game, but I'll do my best! :P
Aug 18, 2011 12:31 AM - Brian Peters: MMMMmmmm.... The buffet! Nothing like a little defrosted, 300 year old, rotten halfling forearm in the morning!
Aug 17, 2011 12:11 PM - Tracy: That buffet was all the treasure I'll ever need...
Aug 17, 2011 12:04 PM - Jensen: BINX!!! There is always treasure when you follow the path of Light!!! I need nothing but the power of the sun and the moon. With those I am content.
Aug 16, 2011 10:15 PM - Rob R: I don't know. My PC has some scored some primo new age Druid-inspired horticulture. I feel RICH BEEEOTCH!!!!!! You might say he's half-baked.
Aug 16, 2011 2:32 AM - Brian Peters: Also. for those of you playing along at home, your characters have so far received 1225 xp each... yet somehow, no gold....What kinda bunk dungeon has no loot?
Aug 16, 2011 2:14 AM - Brian Peters: Thanks, Deirdre! I am having a lot of fun, considering this is my first time running an extended adventure/mod in over twenty years, (yeah, go ahead and make your "gramps" comment, GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU PESKY KIDS!!!) Looking forward to see how this unfolds...
Aug 16, 2011 1:02 AM - Tracy: Yeah man, I also had a totally groovy time tonight. 'Rock On!' Little Halfling. Bring on the Orgy Mistress Mul. Pass that to the left my fellow controller. And either this stuff is really great or I've been following the sun and the moon for 2 days now!
Aug 16, 2011 12:19 AM - Deirdre: Really fun game tonight everyone! That was my first time extended resting evar. Binx is so excited that there might actually be some TREASURE behind that frosty tomb of ice.
Aug 8, 2011 5:25 PM - Jensen: Im McCloud the last of an elite order of roving guardians of the path of light. I was drawn to the undying winter for it lacks any positive energy and could have answers on what killed my brethren. Better yet, no evil shall prevail while I still draw breath.
Aug 8, 2011 3:43 PM - Rob R: I don't have my pc with me (it's in the parking garage), but I'm pretty sure I have Endure Elements.
Aug 8, 2011 2:27 PM - Tracy: @ Rob - My rituals: Dark Light (lvl 4), Hunter's Curse (lvl 3), Endure Elements (lvl 2), Animal Messenger & Fastidiousness (lvl 1) .... Just in case you have the same ones let me know so I can change them.
Aug 8, 2011 12:29 PM - Brian Peters: yes, we will meet at Citi...
Aug 8, 2011 12:03 PM - Tommy T: Yeah, Deirdre had to remind me of the date change too last Sunday! Haha. Also, Citicenter tonight, right?
Aug 8, 2011 10:53 AM - Tracy: lol, well that must have been a nice surprise to the wife when you went home last Monday. "No baby, I decided tonight is your night. Forget DnD." ;)
Aug 8, 2011 10:30 AM - Rob R: Oh, and I was almost right there with you Tracy. Brought my stuff to work and was heading straight there on Monday. Luckily, I made another perception check half hout before I was leaving and caught the change to the date.
Aug 8, 2011 10:29 AM - Rob R: Since the DM mentioned Citi on 8/3 with nothing since then, I plan on being at Citi. Though I will check in periodically to make sure nothing has changed.
Aug 8, 2011 9:56 AM - Tracy: And where did we decide we would be meeting? I messed up last week and showed up at the citicenter ready to play only to realize I was way to excited and it was a week early. I don't want to get my hopes up just to dash them against the rocky shores of despair again.
Aug 8, 2011 9:50 AM - Tracy: Berend is unlike any Dwarf the world has ever seen. He is an outcast amongst the Bottombarrel clan for turning his back on traditional Dwarf ways in pursuit of his love of nature. A free spirit in more ways than one. Peace, Love, and Bashing in the skulls of those that would defile the natural order of things is this tree-hugging Dwarfs philosophy.
Aug 7, 2011 5:31 PM - Ross H: Hah! You call this winter? Kadren has seen winters with winds so cold they'd strip the very flesh from your bones! Still, anything that can impose such a curse on the land is well worth challenging and besting! I care little about why this brisk and invigorating chill has been laid upon the land, but seek the glory that shall come to he who brings the return of the summer sun! I shall accompany you other adventurers, to be sure you do not steal my rightful claim to honor!
Aug 7, 2011 5:12 PM - Rob R: Xavzzodalenko (Xavier to his friends) is a Githzerai Mind Mage who, while doing some research into rituals, heard of this never-ending winter. As a member of a race of the Elemental Chaos, he is interested as to what the source of this is. He is more interested in anything he can learn as opposed to stopping the winter, unless it is evil in nature.
Aug 7, 2011 9:59 AM - Deirdre: Binx is the cutest little halfling slinger you've ever seen, though definitely not the brightest. Last in a long line of family adventurers she'll do whatever it takes to tumble towards treasure. So pretty! Ooooo. Most likely she wouldn't have sought out to destroy undead unless there was profit in it somewhere. Otherwise she might have failed a streetwise check and heard the neverending snow is gnarly for sledding and boarding. Fuuuuuuun!
Aug 7, 2011 8:50 AM - Brian Peters: Perfect, Tommy... that will work... there is some halfling involvement in the opening scene as well.... Deidre, do you have a planned background, or can I give you one?
Aug 5, 2011 6:08 PM - Tommy T: My character Xamthos is a paladin of the Moon domain. He believes the cycle of the moon balances order and madness, push and pull. He would be very against something that is "never ending". If an order to investigate hasn't be issued then he'd seek answers on his own.
Aug 5, 2011 2:14 PM - Brian Peters: 3 lines, some way I can come up with a reason that you have come to the never ending winter that has befallen Fallcrest...
Aug 5, 2011 11:10 AM - Rob R: Do you want us to e-mail you the information or post something here? Also, what's a "little bit more"? Are you looking for two paragraphs or 3 lines?
Aug 5, 2011 4:46 AM - Brian Peters: ok, cool... after reading the mod, I believe I will know EXACTLY how to scale it up... what I want to know from the STORYTELLING and roleplaying aspect is a LITTLE bit more about your characters... looking forward to running a module, as opposed to a one shot adventure....
Aug 3, 2011 12:21 PM - Tommy T: Brian, whatever works the best for you in terms of scaling the encounters works for me. Unless it's an Elder White Dragon.
Aug 3, 2011 11:38 AM - Tracy: I think if you just simply add more encounters than it will make the existing ones too easy and could extend the mod into at least 1 more session. If its easier for you to just throw in some encounters than go for it. But my vote is beef it up. :)
Aug 3, 2011 10:49 AM - Rob R: Whichever you prefer but keep in mind more encounters = longer mod. Maybe offset by the quickness of the other encounters since they become a lower EL for six than five.
Aug 3, 2011 10:11 AM - Jensen: Old school is my vote but whatever is easier my friend
Aug 3, 2011 4:29 AM - Brian Peters: ok... quick question,... about scaling this up for six... would you guys care if I scaled up the written encounters, or went old school and just added some random encounters in the dungeon?
Aug 3, 2011 4:27 AM - Brian Peters: - Rob R: OK, I'll snag the last spot.

Happy to have you, Rob!
Aug 3, 2011 4:26 AM - Brian Peters: I think we'll play at Citi, since Ross has reported that Au Bon Gout has questionable air conditioning....
Aug 1, 2011 5:38 PM - Tracy: umm...we are playing at citi center right?
Jul 31, 2011 12:25 PM - Tracy: Awesome! :)
Jul 31, 2011 12:10 PM - Rob R: OK, I'll snag the last spot.
Jul 29, 2011 2:07 AM - Ross H: Excellent, I can definitely make 6:30 (and an 11pm end time sounds great to me!). As for location, Citi's generally easy enough...
Jul 28, 2011 5:00 AM - Brian Peters: Andrew K.: If on Mondays, how long are you expecting to run until?

I have a weird scedule, but since most people work on Mondays, I would ASSUME 11pm would be a good cutoff time, but we should take a poll amongst the players signed up...
Jul 28, 2011 4:58 AM - Brian Peters: Ross H: Brian, can this start at 6:30 rather than 6pm? That'd work much better for me...Ross H: Brian, can this start at 6:30 rather than 6pm? That'd work much better for me...

Ross. I put up 6pm with the HOPE that we would be playing by 6:30... my intention was that this would be a 6;30 game, so, no problems... So, where do you guys want to play?
Jul 27, 2011 1:50 PM - Ross H: Brian, can this start at 6:30 rather than 6pm? That'd work much better for me...
Jul 26, 2011 4:58 PM - Andrew K.: If on Mondays, how long are you expecting to run until?
Jul 26, 2011 3:43 PM - Brian Peters: A good agent could negotiate a better contract...
Jul 26, 2011 3:31 PM - Rob R: Yea, Jensen. I'm tempted to snag the last spot but I trying to keep my playing time from crossing the line in the sand with the missus. It's like a kick returner streaking down the sideline. Too close and one nudge stops the return dead in the tracks.
Jul 25, 2011 6:16 PM - Jensen: Rob theres a space for u in this campaign, come on and join up
Jul 24, 2011 8:36 PM - Tracy: If Ross takes Avenger and Deirdre takes Thief than we'll have 2 strikers and Jensen will most likely play a Warpriest.
Jul 24, 2011 8:11 PM - Brian Peters: aaaaallrighty then, I will push the start date back by one week, and all of us get to play... sorry for delaying it one week, I just want to get the best game I can off, and I like this roster of players... I hope I can give you guys some good gaming!
Jul 24, 2011 11:05 AM - Deirdre: Keep pushing it back and then I won't be able to play. The last week in August is nebulous for me as it is. One week is fine, but let's not get crazy. ;p
Jul 24, 2011 9:26 AM - Brian Peters: or should we bump it back two weeks, so everyone interested can play?
Jul 24, 2011 9:25 AM - Brian Peters: ok, so let's do this one week later, so that Jensen can be in ... is that ok, guys, and gals?
Jul 23, 2011 1:44 PM - Josh M.: Rrgh, I am now going to have to drop out. Found out I have to go to a wedding in Iowa the week of the 8th. Freaking IOWA. :((( sucky
Jul 23, 2011 12:10 PM - Josh M.: I'm fine with bumping it a week as well.
Jul 23, 2011 12:03 PM - Ross H: That's no problem with my schedule.
Jul 23, 2011 9:27 AM - Brian Peters: i would be willing to hold back a week so Jensen can join us....
Jul 22, 2011 9:04 PM - Jensen: Sorry guys but I cant make august 1st. Im going to have to drop out of this one. I really dont want to miss this wrastling match with vegetables. Well maybe next time
Jul 22, 2011 4:28 PM - Ross H: Au Bon Gout was *not* doing a good job with the AC at the beginning of the summer (it got pretty unbearable in there). Has anyone been more recently? Are they doing any better?
Jul 22, 2011 4:24 PM - Brian Peters: Also, where do you guys want to play? Cafe Au Bon Gout allows for food and drink, and should have tables on a Monday...
Jul 22, 2011 3:39 PM - Brian Peters: Since I am the DM, the sixth slot shall be decided by a bikini creamed arugula wrestling death match/battle royale.... just 'cuz I like saying arugula....( A-ROOOO-guh-la! )
Jul 21, 2011 11:11 PM - Deirdre: Creamed Spinach maybe...
Jul 20, 2011 8:59 PM - James L: I put up some "Essentials Only - Fast Play Rules" that you all could opt into. http://rpgconnect.org/popup_instruct_Essentials.html
Jul 19, 2011 1:43 PM - Brian Peters: Bikini cream corn wrestling might be better...
Jul 19, 2011 12:52 PM - Tommy T: Thanks for the info, James. Also, as far as party makeup, I'm sans a computer at the moment so I cannot decide on a character. Either battlemind or a striker.
Jul 19, 2011 10:53 AM - James L: Since Gatraz is ultra silent, there's a chance he is one of those "no-show" people. I may have to kick him if he doesn't reply in the next few days.
Jul 19, 2011 12:04 AM - Deirdre: I think we should have a bikini mud wrestling contest to decide who gets the spot...
Jul 18, 2011 2:12 PM - Jensen: if you have the same amount of points whoever signs up fist to the committed gets first slot
Jul 18, 2011 12:49 PM - Brian Peters: In guess we have to ask the other two .5 if they mind if we allow Deirdre to be the sixth?
Jul 18, 2011 12:11 PM - Tommy T: -so what's the deal if 3 people have the same point score of .5?
Jul 17, 2011 4:23 PM - Jensen: 6 is fine by me
Jul 14, 2011 4:33 PM - Tracy: The more the merrier! :)
Jul 14, 2011 4:28 PM - Brian Peters: I can accommodate a sixth, I'll just throw extra stuff at you, provided that's ok with everybody...
Jul 14, 2011 2:20 PM - Graham: I can't make the 8th. Take my spot. Kille em all!!
Jul 14, 2011 12:51 PM - Deirdre: Sooo...Mondays are really the only day I can guarantee availability and I really really want to play..Any way you can squeeze me in? Pretty please? O.o
Jul 9, 2011 12:05 PM - Jensen: Thanks Brian for the info
Jul 9, 2011 7:31 AM - Brian Peters: @Graham... I'll let you guys decide, I don't care either way... Play what you guys want, I played "Reavers of the Harkenwold" with Rob DM'ing, and we ran all essentials... It WAS fun, but I would rather you guys vote amongst yourselves... I'll just sit back and try to kill you!
Jul 8, 2011 6:29 PM - Graham: Is this an essentials only campaign?
Jul 8, 2011 3:34 PM - Deirdre: I can also pretty assuredly make these games. I'll check if there's space for me closer to the start date.
Jun 28, 2011 1:55 PM - Tommy T: I'm reasonably sure I could make this. I'll let everyone know far in advance if I cannot.
Jun 28, 2011 1:33 PM - Jensen: Is this an essentials only campaign? Or since marshal isnt really changed in essentials just opening it up to all?
Jun 28, 2011 1:24 PM - Brian Peters: I put 6pm, thinking we wouldn't start until 6:30... if we go to 11, that should give enough time for at least 3 encounters a session... should be perfect, and I can prep weekly for that.
Jun 28, 2011 1:22 PM - Ross H: I'm in - couldn't start at 6pm (6:30 is earliest), though. Some chance I may have to pull out as I figure out vacation plans, but I'll have plenty of notice on that.
Jun 28, 2011 1:03 PM - Tracy: I'm good with Monday evenings. Weekends are pretty full for July into August.
Jun 28, 2011 1:01 PM - Ross H: Mondays in August would work fine for me! I'd say 6:30 or 7-11 would be fine, although I probably wouldn't want to go much past 11 in general.
Jun 28, 2011 12:59 PM - Brian Peters: Ok, seeing as how we are nearing the beginning of July, how do you guys feel about four Monday evening sessions, starting at 6:30, and going till 11- 11:30 pm? Is that too late for a Monday? I would like to start first week in August.
Jun 11, 2011 10:29 PM - Ross H: Hey, congrats on the job!! Look forward to hearing more about it. Anyway, I'm flexible on scheduling - Mon/Tues evenings would work fine for me!
Jun 9, 2011 2:43 PM - James L: The days you have this up on the calendar are in direct competition with Fortress of the Yuan Ti. Until we have a larger base of players, I'd guess over half of the people interested are busy that weekend. You might want to check conflict with future games when rescheduling this.
Jun 2, 2011 8:53 PM - Brian Peters: Also, I might want to pull this back a couple of weeks to late July, so I can be more set in my new schedule.
Jun 2, 2011 8:51 PM - Brian Peters: Ok... great news for Brian... I have a job after 6 months of hunting! Bad news for this game, I still want to run it, but the times may be a little wonky for traditional 9-5 working guys. ( I am now considering Monday and Tuesday eves, I hope that is okay) Thoughts, and suggestions?
May 16, 2011 6:05 PM - Ross H: Good luck with the job stuff!! Yeah, that schedule sounds fine to me!
May 16, 2011 3:36 PM - Brian Peters: Good to know, and I will keep it in mind... We have plenty of time, and I am on a third interview with the same employer tommorrow. I should know the outcome later this week, and if I get it (*croses fingers*), my schedule will be weekends and evenings and kinda wonky...Would two 6 hour sessions and two 4 hours sessions (2-8pm Sunday followed by 7-11 on Monday or Tuesday) be something that something could fit into your guys' schedule?
May 16, 2011 1:38 PM - Ross H: On a Sunday? I'd say 8pm would be about as late as I'd really want to go - noon to 7 or 8pm has worked well for me before, with a break for lunch...
May 16, 2011 1:37 PM - Brian Peters: Cool Ross, if sessions were to be held on a Sun, rather than Sat, what would be an ideal block of time?

May 15, 2011 8:30 PM - Ross H: Not wild about that, really :/
May 15, 2011 6:33 PM - Brian Peters: That's good to know.. I'm just testing the waters to see if people that work Mon. to Fri. would be willing to play a Sunday game that goes into early evening...
May 15, 2011 5:49 PM - Daniel A: I'll say it varies widely on how my work schedule will be in summertime given summer classes is being shoe-horned in there.
May 15, 2011 3:29 PM - Brian Peters: Are you guys available for Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening sessions? (Let's say from 2-10 or 3-11pm sessions?)
May 11, 2011 7:32 AM - Brian Peters: Time and days approximate... will wait to see if there is interest and group availabilities first...would like on weekend Sat/Sun or weeknights early week...
