Fourthcore - Crucible of the Gods
Cost: $0.00
Level: 1

First Session: Sunday -- March 11th, 2012 -- 12:00 PM
[Eastern Time]

Approx. Length: 1 session

The first in the ‘Core’ series of introductory fourthcore dungeon modules aimed at veterans of D&D 4th Edition interested in the genre. It is also designed to attract players to 4E from games like Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. If you’re brand new to fourthcore, start here.

Fourthcore adventure meant to be like a delve. Players should hopefully complete it in a timed 3-5 hour session. These are meant to be rediculously difficult and challenging. Meaning you die, and try again, repeat until the time is up.Link to What is Fourthcore?

Centuries ago, the four deities worshipped by mortals – Kishar, Kotaresh, Lyth, and Asar-Segt – threatened to drown the world in a flood of saltwater to punish the living for their impiety. The oracles and witches of your realm struck a desperate bargain with the gods, however, and convinced them to spare the world. In exchange, the mortal kingdoms from which you hail were bound to demonstrate their faith once every generation by sending their most courageous and adroit warriors to the Crucible, a ziggurat in the lowest valley of the land.

You are one of these champions.”

Mar 12, 2012 11:02 AM - Graham: like i said "super dope!" Glad my old man could pull out some mythology
Mar 11, 2012 10:28 PM - KenB: Dwarven Tenacity for the Win! Kidding, the whole group was amazing! I'd go dungeon crawling with those stalwart heroes any day!
Mar 11, 2012 10:14 PM - Tracy: Wow! Great game everybody...You've earned 750 points earning the title Avatar. If you could have done in it an hour less you would have had the best title Demigod. Congratulations. I'll email James and have him change the scoreboard.
Mar 11, 2012 1:54 PM - Tracy: Awesome 226 West 47th it is! See everyone at 4. Mwahahahaha
Mar 11, 2012 1:53 PM - Graham: haha
yup 226 West 47th. call or text and ill come let you in: 646-221-7346
Mar 11, 2012 1:53 PM - Tracy: Don't forget to bring 2 characters with you!
Mar 11, 2012 1:52 PM - Tracy: I just woke up so I'm glad we delayed the start time a bit...otherwise you'd have a hungover DM. :p
Mar 11, 2012 1:52 PM - Tracy: Graham is the offer still up for playing at LB's office? I like that plan! :)
Mar 11, 2012 12:34 PM - Xerek: Anyone wanna play some small world or something? For the first half?
Mar 11, 2012 10:39 AM - Graham: We can play at LB's office today if you like
Mar 10, 2012 6:29 PM - KenB: sorry for all the last min uncertainty, guys!
Mar 9, 2012 7:44 PM - Tracy: The thing about starting too early is chances are you could die within the first 20 min - an hour and I don't want you guys to get bored playing it waiting for Ken...

Chances are we'll still play through this twice and finish within 3-5 hours...by through this I mean die. Mwahahahaha
Mar 9, 2012 7:27 PM - Xerek: i'd say: why not come early and try. The more runs we get in the more we know when Ken shows up
Mar 9, 2012 7:22 PM - Graham: I to for option 2. 4pm start all or nothing
Mar 9, 2012 6:02 PM - Tracy: I'll let everyone vote:

1 - Try with 3 at 1 o'clock then play again when Ken shows up

2 - Start at 4 and finish at 7:30ish (play 1 time through)

I have 2 sessions scheduled so you can play through it a second time if you die on the first go.
Mar 9, 2012 5:42 PM - KenB: dudez, my sincerest apologies. An important responsibility just came up and I will not be able to make the first session! I hope this doesn't put you guys out of a game! See you at 4pm?
Mar 5, 2012 10:45 AM - Tracy: Everyone remember to bring 2 characters with you...or you can use the same one twice after your 1st one dies. :)
Mar 2, 2012 10:54 AM - Tracy: Let's see if you guys can beat the high score of 390!
Mar 1, 2012 7:54 PM - Tracy: Awesome...just remember to bring your player and character knowledge with you as well. You're going to need it. mwahahahaha
Mar 1, 2012 5:50 PM - KenB: I'll bring my lightsab- er, Lute.
Mar 1, 2012 5:48 PM - Tracy: That's the plan...can you make it? Can you, can you, can you???
Mar 1, 2012 5:45 PM - KenB: To confirm, this game IS on Sunday the 11th, yes?
Mar 1, 2012 2:46 PM - Brad: Looks fun
Feb 28, 2012 8:43 AM - Kenny P: Ugh. Tracy, I thought I would be able to make the game but it conflicts with my Dark Sun home game. I thought we had that weekend off but it isn't so. *sad face*
Feb 17, 2012 1:08 PM - James L: I apologize profusely for the wishy-washiness. But I'm removing the Essentials-only restriction from the Campaign Games section. It's going back to the previous houserules. Also, going back to starting with "Common" items only. Feel free to switch your character if you were hating the Essentials thing, but you may only start with "Common" items and should follow all the other houserules which should feel pretty free and fair. Chris Perkins' "Circus" article convinced me of my error.
Feb 11, 2012 8:15 PM - Kenny P: I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE! ;)
Feb 11, 2012 7:45 PM - Tracy: We talked about this earlier so I know you're now aware Xerek, but for anyone else that joins that may have similar questions: 4th Core isn't about combat as much as it is about figuring out how to solve a puzzle, using your player knowledge and character knowledge to figure out riddles, and being adventurous and curious. Read the Link above titled: What is 4th Core. You'll see what I mean.
Feb 11, 2012 9:38 AM - Xerek: So, when running the 4th core mods, are the no power gaming parts of the house rules still in effect. I sorta thought the point of 4th core was that u needed to power game it
Feb 6, 2012 11:20 PM - Graham: Super dope
Feb 6, 2012 2:53 PM - KenB: sounds dope
Feb 6, 2012 1:02 PM - Tracy: I can move to 11th. :)
Feb 6, 2012 11:24 AM - Graham: any chance we could run this on the 11th?
Feb 4, 2012 12:21 AM - Kenny P: Huh. The story kind of sounds similar to The Hunger Games. Faith Games? :P
