Warrens of the Stone Giant Thane
Cost: $0.00
Level: 14

First Session: Thursday -- April 5th, 2012 -- 7:00 PM
[Eastern Time]

Approx. Length: 4-5 sessions

This adventure draws its inspiration from the tri-partite “G” series of modules written by Gary Gygax in the 1970s—a series that was later collected into a single adventure module titled Against the Giants, published in 1981 by TSR, Inc. The series pitted characters against hill giants, frost giants, and fire giants, but stone giants got the short end of the stick. This adventure gives stone giants their moment to shine.

May 1, 2012 4:52 PM - Tracy: I will be there tonight, but I may be a little late. I work on Union Square and we are blocked inside our building right now because of protestos...occupy a job you hippies!
Apr 30, 2012 9:44 AM - James L: We meet tomorrow (Tuesday), don't forget, it's hard to see on the calendar.
Apr 25, 2012 12:51 PM - John McCullough: So,you guys are about halfway to 16th level. Can people play Tuesday May 1st instead of Thursday the 3rd?
Apr 24, 2012 6:15 PM - Capt_Dan: Oh, and a reminder, I'm leaving on the 3red of May - do we have an alternate date?
Apr 24, 2012 3:19 PM - Vlad: By the way, should we bring level 16 chars if we're planning on detailed warren exploration?
Apr 24, 2012 2:45 PM - James L: Danica, I'm sure this infernal malfunctioning contraption is definitely not of dwarven make. It was probably made by gnomes. It should be dismantled as soon as we get some free time, my darling.
Apr 24, 2012 2:05 PM - Capt_Dan: "Please desist hostility and engage in negotiation"

Apr 24, 2012 2:04 PM - Capt_Dan: Now now, I am sure we can engage all we encounter in peaceful dialogue and resolve our differences with words, not wands...
Apr 22, 2012 7:23 PM - Vlad: If by that you mean ransack and loot, I am definitely on board
Apr 22, 2012 7:20 PM - James L: Now that we are the new recruits for the Elder Elemental Eye, we should try to milk this and explore and meet as much of the place as we can, right?
Apr 20, 2012 9:06 PM - Tracy: Great game guys, sorry I was completely exhausted after the day was done and not 100% there. I was in such a haze it seemed like I was dreaming and John rolled all 1's for the evening and we ended up surviving what should have been certain death.
Apr 19, 2012 5:05 PM - Tracy: I will most likely, probably, definitely be a few minutes late, but maybe not...Either way, I'll bring a few daisies we can push up.
Apr 12, 2012 3:30 PM - Kenny P: *TEEP* Maybe they're spyholes (or scry foci)? We could blindfold 'em or sumthin'.
Apr 12, 2012 1:15 PM - Capt_Dan: I see what you're saying; some sort of disguise perhaps? I will fomulate a plan...
Apr 10, 2012 4:06 PM - John McCullough: Good eye, James. I wonder what that could mean...
Apr 9, 2012 11:23 AM - James L: You know there certainly are a lot of masks in this place. In the courtyard were those giant heads, Balastraya's room had wooden masks, the next place we find a hallway with more stone faces. Someone who lives here likes masks.
Apr 4, 2012 11:30 PM - Capt_Dan: I've got your stone giants right here..
Apr 4, 2012 7:54 PM - John McCullough: Alright gang, I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night. I'll have tokens and pawns for the monsters, but if anyone wanted to bring some giant minis, that would be cool.
Apr 4, 2012 5:26 PM - Vlad: Ahh ok, I see the filter under the Marketplace option now.
Apr 4, 2012 5:11 PM - James L: Common items are easily filterable in the builder. Having no Daily or Active powers is not always what separates them.
Apr 4, 2012 4:46 PM - Vlad: Btw, just to clarify, we can only take common items, correct? And common items are the ones that have no active powers (daily or encounters), right?

Apr 4, 2012 11:02 AM - Capt_Dan: Hey, I might stick up an "intermission" game for the 14th - does that work for anyone?
Apr 4, 2012 10:55 AM - Capt_Dan: Asymptote was built for War. His magics are destructive and violent, but his nature is cheerful and curious. Preferring not to fight, if he can, nevertheless, once combat starts he unleashes everything...
Apr 4, 2012 10:11 AM - James L: Dwarf Fighter classic with axe and shield. (Weaponmaster), after being freed from slavery, Torgan Bouldershoulders the Delzoun Trueborn has decided no one will ever, ever push him around or knock him prone ever again. or stop him: Dreadnought Paragon Path. He has wild black hair and a huge bushy black beard.
Apr 3, 2012 7:18 PM - Capt_Dan: By nature, he's inquisitive and non-threatening.
Apr 3, 2012 7:01 PM - Capt_Dan: If it helps, Asymptote is very much a front-line war wizard, in his build, and can get up close and unleash the blast/bursts...
Apr 3, 2012 6:16 PM - Tracy: James are you doing Classic Fighter or essentials Fighter (I assume you would have put Knight or Slayer if that's what you were playing, but I want to double check so I can see if I should go more strikery than defendery)
Apr 3, 2012 12:47 PM - Kenny P: We do now! :D
Apr 3, 2012 11:34 AM - James L: Do we have a leader?
Apr 1, 2012 3:02 PM - John McCullough: Hey, guys. I know there's a lot of conflict on the 5th, but these dates are really the best in my tight spring schedule. Dan, I've got more flexibility towards the end of the game, so if the last session is the only conflict, go ahead and join and we'll work it out.
Mar 30, 2012 1:50 PM - AVacc: I would like in on this but I cant make the first session - I will be at PAX East
Mar 30, 2012 1:16 PM - James L: Dan, just join, we'll make something work out.
Mar 29, 2012 11:04 PM - Capt_Dan: I'm really wavering on this... that last session though...
Mar 25, 2012 7:22 PM - Ross H: Actually, turns out I probably can't make the first game. I'll probably drop out for now, don't want to make too much trouble.
Mar 20, 2012 9:43 AM - Ross H: All looks good to me! The 19th isn't the *best* day for me, but I can make it if necessary. Tuesday the 17th would be better, but if the 19th is the best all around, I'll make it work. Looking forward to it!
Mar 19, 2012 6:24 PM - John McCullough: Alright guys, just checking in. Whether you have committed or are just interested, please check your calendars again and confirm we're still good. If you can't make one of the days, suggest a day that works.
Mar 13, 2012 2:14 PM - Tracy: /me puts hand in the air
Mar 13, 2012 11:27 AM - James L: Who wants to run Frost Giants after this?
Feb 22, 2012 3:56 PM - John McCullough: Schedule update: I had to cancel the April 12th session, due to some travel. We'll try to fit it into 4 sessions, but if we have to we can add one on May 10th
Feb 18, 2012 2:17 PM - Capt_Dan: I'd already worked that out... besides, if there was one person who couldn't complain about getting bumped on this system...
Feb 18, 2012 8:12 AM - James L: Feel free to bump me, but by next week I'll have racked up points from DM'ing Hill Giants.
Feb 17, 2012 11:54 PM - Capt_Dan: So, this is popular, then? Maybe I'll play, and maybe I won't...
Feb 7, 2012 11:14 AM - Tracy: We usually end around 11-11:30ish but try not to go any later than that.
Feb 6, 2012 10:15 PM - Saj: Hey John, I would love to play, but I would have to leave at 11pm. How late do the games run?
Feb 4, 2012 10:31 AM - John McCullough: You've defeated the hill giants, but can you withstand the mighty stone giants?
