Aug 14, 2012 3:05 PM - Kenny P: I think "braced" is a much better word. You are recovering, after all. "Trust me, it's for the best"
Aug 14, 2012 2:58 PM - James L: I assume Aelwynn spends this time tied to a bed with his ankles properly "hobbled"
Aug 14, 2012 2:56 PM - Kenny P: 0:)
Aug 14, 2012 2:55 PM - Kenny P: After luring the abominable Voracia away from the dead and dying, Wax doubles back and spirits away the unconscious form of Aelwynn to safety. Perhaps to a cabin in the mountains somewhere so he can "finish" that album he was working on while Wax "nurses" him back to health and pull him out of misery.
Aug 14, 2012 2:47 PM - kentmagus: Arvandor burns! My guy returns all your corpses back to wherever you were supposed to be raised or buried. Then he now has a mighty quest to perform. Restore Arvandor and Corellon or prevent this event from happening.

Also, Matt, you did an excellent job. I mostly think extra magic items like flowform armor, or acrobat boots, power jewel, etc. would have helped, not your running of the game.
Aug 14, 2012 10:59 AM - Capt_Dan: Final thing, Matt. I thought you did agreat job. ay lingering issues I have are entirely with the mod and not you as a DM - thanks for running, I'm genuinely disappointed we couldn't take it all the way with you.
Aug 14, 2012 1:09 AM - Tracy: Ea-Gats! It sounds like having me there wouldn't have helped anyway since my max damage output was 32/round, but I still should have been there to watch you die.
Aug 14, 2012 12:17 AM - Kenny P: In hindsight, I should have unloaded my dailies sooner, especially the copied power of Thrask's Overwhelming Fervor (divine sanction per hit). After using it, I could have resumed my hiding and let the power work for itself. Of course, that would mean getting in melee range to the aura'd sum'bitches. >_<
Aug 13, 2012 11:21 PM - Matt H: It also seems like, as you get higher in level (Epic!) the line between "cakewalk" and "TPK" keeps getting thinner and thinner...
Aug 13, 2012 11:20 PM - Matt H: I had factored in insubstantial to the HP total for the two that had it, but not resistances (and the Fear immunity was rough on Thrask in particular). Basically, it felt like the strikers were pretty much hitting baseline numbers, but that there was no way for the rest to keep up -- each PC needs to average 68 damage per round to end it in four rounds. I suspect it's more of an item-dependent LFR build issue, but leveling up could help, too.
Aug 13, 2012 10:32 PM - Capt_Dan: I think, for this mod to work in future, it should be for L23 char, with the usual 4 items + L23 Gold to buy whatever. That, I think, provides the edge necessary...
Aug 13, 2012 10:30 PM - Capt_Dan: That's ony part of the story though. Half the creatures were insubstantial (so double their HP) and highly resistant. Also, they had Auras that shredded us, essentially putting us on a clock. Recall, at one point I put out a single hit for 104hp, of which 44 stuck...
Aug 13, 2012 10:00 PM - Matt H: So, some thoughts on what just happened: I think it was a damage output issue (or lack thereof). It was a level 22 encounter, with 1,360 total monster HP for the five of you to chop through; you had done 901 total damage when we called it, so only 2/3rds of the way to victory (and with one more brutal encounter remaining in the day, and basically no resources remaining). You weren't missing that often, but you weren't doing enough damage when you hit (i.e., it's damage, not accuracy here).
Aug 13, 2012 9:32 PM - Capt_Dan: Game over man! Game over!
Aug 13, 2012 8:53 PM - Tracy: Guys I'm sorry! We just finished after 4 overtime innings. I'm on Roosevelt island making my way in!
Aug 13, 2012 5:16 PM - AVacc: Brings his lighter.. errr torch!
Aug 13, 2012 5:14 PM - James L: It's time to put away my Lute and break out the Magiletric Guitar
Aug 9, 2012 3:17 PM - Tracy: lol, Thanks guys - I really am sorry about this - stupid rain last month through the whole schedule out the window.
Aug 9, 2012 12:59 PM - AVacc: I am sure Matt can come up with some monster to keep Rawnyrn in it's belly while we fight, epically.
Aug 9, 2012 12:56 PM - Matt H: Let's stick with Monday, then. If the last session was indicative of the pace of Epic battles, you'll probably only miss half of the first combat.
Aug 9, 2012 2:34 AM - AVacc: I can't do Wed or Friday - Monday works best for me.
Aug 9, 2012 12:59 AM - Kenny P: Balls! (pun intended) That leaves us with Friday, unless someone else can't make it. I think keeping Monday is better, I mean it's only an hour right Tracy? :D
Aug 9, 2012 12:14 AM - kentmagus: Congrats on getting to the finals! Also, flexible except Wednesday.
Aug 9, 2012 12:09 AM - Capt_Dan: I'm mostly flexible - can't do Thursday.
Aug 8, 2012 11:33 PM - Matt H: Kickball conflicts! If folks want to reschedule, I could do any non-Tuesday day next week. If that doesn't work, we'll forge ahead as planned while Rawnyrn takes a nap.
Aug 8, 2012 9:54 PM - Tracy: Guys I'm terribly sorry, but I will be an hour late for the next Monday game. My kickball team won our playoff game and made it to the finals which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but has been rescheduled for that Monday.
Aug 7, 2012 9:31 PM - Tracy: Awesome game, great pic!
Aug 7, 2012 11:38 AM - AVacc: That bulge in his belly looks like Lareathian
Aug 7, 2012 10:09 AM - James L: awesome pic.
Aug 7, 2012 10:02 AM - Matt H: Then: the echoing call of the white horns draw you deeper into the forest. Just as the horns at last fall silent, you arrive at the base of an immense tree. You can make out a series of structures built amidst the branches above. Two rope ladders hang down to the ground.
Aug 7, 2012 9:59 AM - Matt H: So after spending some quality time corroding inside the bilious gullet of Jörgrilak the Voracious, you emerge victorious (if somewhat the worse for wear). During the ensuing short rest, the magic of Arvandor breathes a glimmer of life back into Thrask (i.e., you can surge up from zero, but suffer a -1 death penalty to all attack rolls, skill checks, saving throws, and ability checks).
Aug 6, 2012 3:04 PM - Capt_Dan: He is one of only a handful of beings to have willingly walked into Banehold, and been able to willingly walk out again too. At this moment, he roams Warriors Rest, studying the eternal conflicts that rage there, and waiting for his new master's first commands...
Aug 6, 2012 3:02 PM - Capt_Dan: Thrask has spent the last year or so, as a minor trophy in a contest between Bane and Tempus, finally choosing Tempus, when he realised he could only ever hope to serve in Banehold, but might have his own small domain in warriors rest.
Aug 6, 2012 2:49 PM - Capt_Dan: Do you not Fear me?
Aug 6, 2012 2:47 PM - Capt_Dan: Okay, a few details then... MBA - +28vs Ac/2d10+16 (+9 with CA)- Vice of Fury, Dragonfear at least three times an encounter. Using a Halberd, (and Deadly Axe ,Polearm flanking) I fight from a square back, and have a max dam potential of 178 (+10 ongoing) (assuming a crit under the right circumstances and good rolling!) I have Battlestrider Greaves for a Spd of 8...
Aug 6, 2012 2:44 PM - Matt H: For tonight's game, think about where your characters are and what newly-epic things they've been doing. You don't need to be together or otherwise know each other, and you can be anywhere on Faerun.

See you at Au Bon Gout at 7pm.
Aug 6, 2012 2:31 PM - James L: Thrask, do you have Iron Armbands of Power? How is your melee basic? Are you Vice or Fury?
Aug 6, 2012 1:14 PM - AVacc: @Kenny P: Disintegrate & Wrath of Battle
Aug 6, 2012 1:10 PM - Kenny P: @Avacc and kentmagus: could you tell me what your 19th level daily powers are?
Aug 6, 2012 9:58 AM - Capt_Dan: They say the Queen thinks the world smells like frech paint, because everywhere she goes has just been painted. Thrask thinks the world smells like soiled britches...
Aug 6, 2012 9:54 AM - Tracy: @Avacc - Yes sir it is! Woo-hoo.
Aug 5, 2012 5:45 PM - Capt_Dan: "...I'm Scary and I know it."
Aug 5, 2012 11:25 AM - Tracy: @ Kenny - Smash and Grab :)
Aug 5, 2012 12:52 AM - kentmagus: Corellon's Azure Blessing-Daily-level 20- aura 5 until end of encounter. Bright light. Enemy ending their turns int the aura take 10 radiant.Demons +drow + spiders grant CA. At-Will, 10 radiant, target knocked prone, teleport adjacent to target
Aug 4, 2012 1:05 AM - Kenny P: "Everyday I'm shufflin' ... powers that is." :P

@Matt, Lolth has an unfair advantage with 8 legs.
Aug 3, 2012 11:22 AM - Tracy: Rawnyrn has 4 left feet.
Aug 3, 2012 11:17 AM - Capt_Dan: At a push, Thrask does a pretty mean Techno Viking. He also moshs.
Aug 3, 2012 11:05 AM - Matt H: Hey! The Dance Dance Revolution skill challenge in the Lolth encounter is meant to be a surprise, and now's it's just ruined.
Aug 3, 2012 10:58 AM - James L: My level 19 Daily is "Otto's Irresistable Dance" just try to resist it! You can't. Feel the rhythm, Hyper! Hyper!
Aug 3, 2012 10:40 AM - Capt_Dan: "You have nothing to Fear but Fear itself."

"Hello."
Aug 1, 2012 10:48 PM - AVacc: Is it Monday yet?
Aug 1, 2012 2:03 AM - Kenny P: My Deadly Duplication power uses my stats (Charisma) for both attacks and damage.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :P
Aug 1, 2012 1:48 AM - Capt_Dan: Do you do that with your stats, or mine? I can easily imagine a changeling Rogue becoming fascinated with the terrifying presence and appearance of Thrask...
Aug 1, 2012 1:40 AM - Kenny P: Thanks, Dan. It's likely that I'll be copying your Dragonfear Overwhelming power most of the time.
Aug 1, 2012 12:28 AM - Capt_Dan: That may change... but probably not.
Aug 1, 2012 12:20 AM - Capt_Dan: Level 19 Daily - "Overwhelming Fervour" Str Vs AC, 5W+Str and the Tgt is subject to my Divine Sanction...
Jul 31, 2012 11:45 PM - Capt_Dan: *Fear Him*
Jul 30, 2012 11:35 AM - Matt H: Unless there are strong feelings to the contrary, we'll be at Au Bon Gout.
Jul 29, 2012 4:25 PM - Big B: Where will you be playing?
Jul 28, 2012 7:24 PM - Kenny P: He is manifold, but he will always be your friend.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. In fact, I'll be anyone."

Wax - Changeling Rogue/Traveler's Harlequin/Keeper of the Everflow. MC Gloom Pact Binder, MC Execution, Cursed Shadow feat.
Jul 28, 2012 7:19 PM - Kenny P: He is fluid in form as well as in personality. He was the blind beggar you passed in the market square, the victim you saved from a common thug, and the villain you thwarted last week. He was there when Captain Larethian was inducted into the Azure Guard. He witnessed Rawnyrn being named Sha’Quessir by Queen Tiandra. He might have been that fan who threw her undergarment at Aelwynn during one of his AWSM Tour concerts, inadvertently causing a riot.
Jul 28, 2012 7:19 PM - Kenny P: . He lived many lives and died many deaths, always seeking and never finding. If there ever was a place where he stayed longer than a fortnight, it would be Myth Drannor. He has established himself as a "Knight of Myth Drannor" for his service as [double] agent of Shade.
Jul 28, 2012 7:18 PM - Kenny P: He was found by a nymph, in a cradle not of wood but stardust. The babe was brought to the Court of Stars where his companions were dreams and nightmares his teachers. When he was of weaning age, the Court had him switched with a mortal child in Faerun. He was a precocious child, always up to some mischief but never derelict in his duties to his parents. When he became of age, an irresistible urge to travel came upon him. This wanderlust took him across the breadth of the land and beyond.
Jul 28, 2012 7:18 PM - Kenny P: His story begins with a plague of blue fire. The Spellplague was a time of great upheaval and change. Cataclysmic energy ripped through Toril and the cosmos, leaving death in its wake. But it also brought new life as well. As planar boundaries were ripped apart and realigned, whole kingdoms and new peoples were plucked from far off worlds and planted unto the Realms. It was through one such planar breach that the enigma known as Waxillium ap Faerwald was born.
Jul 27, 2012 2:30 AM - Kenny P: Damn, that's a shame. I was hoping to sample Thrask's Dragonfear Overwhelming. :P
Jul 26, 2012 12:43 PM - Capt_Dan: I Don't think I can make this... pity, it looks pretty good.
Jul 12, 2012 8:52 AM - AVacc: Kenny P: Kelgore's Rain of Fire
Jul 12, 2012 1:29 AM - Kenny P: Hey guys. If you don't mind me asking, what are your level 19th daily powers? I'm playing a changeling rogue whose level 20th paragon daily power is to copy anyone's level 19th or 20th daily power (chosen after an extended rest).

And AVacc, can you tell me what your Enigmatic Daily Power is?

Thx in advance! Character bio coming soon.
Jul 5, 2012 4:23 PM - Capt_Dan: I've heard a shinging light can keep fear away in dark places. Of course When fear approaches in broad daylight, its power is tenfold...
Jul 5, 2012 4:08 PM - Tracy: I'm happy with Captain Larethian wielding Faervian.
Jul 4, 2012 10:37 PM - Capt_Dan: Sir Michael Jagger is a knight of the Realm and one of her majesties most trusted serveants. whilst you may know him from his musical hobbies, he remains lethal with a Lance.
Jul 4, 2012 9:23 PM - James L: Aelwynn is a knight of Myth Drannor in the same sort of mockery of knighthood that Mick Jagger is. Lord Aelwynn Fancybottom at your service, and all that, hidey ho!
Jul 4, 2012 9:13 PM - Matt H: Items: You can each select 1 Uncommon item and 3 Common items at character creation (instead of the usual 4 Common items). This is in addition to Faervian, so whoever ends up with that will have 2 Uncommons.

See, 20 levels of adventuring pays off!
Jul 4, 2012 8:45 PM - James L: For a fee, Aelwynn can teach you too to be awesome and achieve your love and life goals. He calls it the Master-Dater technique.
Jul 4, 2012 8:44 PM - James L: I bore easily and flirt with both males and females. More for my own enjoyment. I enjoy annoying others. My lute is instrument supreme and I can blast my foes with musical strums of awesomeness. I also attract followers or "fans" everywhere I go. I've been everywhere. ladies in every city.
Jul 4, 2012 8:43 PM - James L: self-confident, inspired, and self obsessed. I can improvise a tune on any instrument. I am a master of poetry, oration, and music. I am also self-centered and egotistical and like to be the center of attention.
Jul 4, 2012 8:42 PM - James L: Aelwynn Fancybottom is an Eladrin-Cunning Bard-Summer Rhymer-Archmage. He is a rock-ballad star of total awesomeness. He also gives motivational speeches, for a fee.
Jul 4, 2012 7:15 PM - Capt_Dan: He has little use for your glowing Toothpick, he prefers to enter battle with his +5 Frightful Halberd. Fear is a Weapon.
Jul 4, 2012 7:14 PM - Capt_Dan: Oka, thrask is now Chosen of Tempus, I think that's a little more reasonable, in the Realms. He remains Evil, due to his barely contained temper and entirely uncontained cruel streak.
Jul 4, 2012 6:04 PM - James L: There was talk that since this mod was meant for RPGA level difficulty that maybe some character creation rules be relaxed and allow a starting Uncommon item.
Jul 4, 2012 5:58 PM - kentmagus: Short Version: Captain Larethian-Eladrin Bladesinger-Azure Guard-Shiradi Champion-Knight of Myth Drannor-Corellon. Will take Faervian from anyone who’s not an elf, eladrin or Shiradi Champion. Otherwise, okay with someone else wielding it.
Jul 4, 2012 5:48 PM - kentmagus: He has wielded Faervian before in service to the Coronal of Myth Drannor and earned his knighthood(Knight of Myth Drannor) and he will do so again when the current non-elven wielder dies of old age. Eladrin are patient and he trusts his brother-under-Summer to wield it as it should be wielded. He will however keep it from anyone who is non-elven or not a Shiradi Champion. As an eladrin bladesinger, he has faith in Corellon who taught the elven races the bladesong.
Jul 4, 2012 5:44 PM - kentmagus: He has also prevented one of Bane’s numerous resurrection attempts a hundred years ago through even more (involuntary) time travel. This is why he was promoted to Captain of the Azure Guard from being a Shiere Knight. publicly.
Jul 4, 2012 5:43 PM - kentmagus: Captain Larethian of the Azure Guard. He has slain both an Exarch of Tiamat, and an Aspect of Tiamat to avenge an elven village turned against each other. This is what publicly earned his appointment as a Shiradi Champion Privately, he did her a major service when he travelled in time that resulted in her becoming Queen In the first place.

Jul 4, 2012 12:41 PM - Tracy: Rawnyrn is a Gnoll Fighter. A weapomaster, specializing in the art of the net. A brawling fighter that worked his way up through the ranks of the pit fighting championships. (Pit Fighter Paragon Path) He was purchased by a wealthy patron, who turned out to be Tiandra, Queen of the Summer Court. Rawnyrn is definitely Sha'Quessier as he has gone as far as changed his origin to that of the fey. (Shiradi Champion Epic Destiny) I believe Thrask should wield the mighty Faervian.
Jul 3, 2012 2:23 PM - Capt_Dan: of course, if Ban is a little strong, I think he could easily be ret-conned to Tempus...
Jul 3, 2012 1:16 PM - Capt_Dan: Inevitably, he came to the attention of Bane, as Bane came to his. The Warlike God admired Thrasks skill, and attitude. Few know what happened when he was summoned to the Banehold, but all now know that Thrask is more than a mercenary, serving Bane in the World. All are wise to be wary of him, but wiser to be standing behind him, and not in front...
Jul 3, 2012 1:14 PM - Capt_Dan: As his power grew, so did his Reputation, and now there are few lords or Kings, Guildmasters or robber-barons that don't owe their position - or the safeholding of it - to Thrasks arm and tactical mind. the Black Dragonborns reputation has become such that sometimes even the knowledge of his invovlement is enough to settle a conflict.
Jul 3, 2012 1:12 PM - Capt_Dan: He spent years wandering, making his way as a powerful and valued Mercenary, dividing his time between War and seeking out Dragons to contest with. His only truly cruel habit, of defeating any Dragon, and then severing its left wing (only).
Jul 3, 2012 1:11 PM - Capt_Dan: thrask was early on considered an outstanding Squire at the Bahamut Temple, and expected to be a fine Paladin. However as he grew in strength and skill, so did his temper and his viciously intimidating demeanour. Eventually, he was forced out, as his ways were no longer in line with Bahamut, or any Good god.
Jul 3, 2012 1:06 PM - Capt_Dan: Thrask, Dragonborn Blackguard, Fearwalker and Chosen of Bane.
Jul 3, 2012 11:29 AM - Matt H: To clarify: any number of you can take #1 or #2; there's only one of #3.
Jul 3, 2012 11:20 AM - AVacc: My Character - Zed - Wizard/Mage - Human - Paragon = Enigmatic Mage - Epic Dest = Indomitable Champion - I will take the Sha'Quessir, elf friend unless anyone feels strongly about it.
Jul 3, 2012 10:42 AM - Matt H: A couple of things: the mod assumes that you've been kicking around Faerun for the past 20 levels, changing the course of events that have unfolded.

Our quick-and-dirty version of this:

1.) Any non-Elf or Eladrin PC can choose to have been in service to the kingdom of Myth Drannor at some point in his career, and been granted the title Sha’Quessir, elf-friend.

2.) Any Elf or Eladrin PC can choose to have been granted the honor of becoming a Knight of Myth Drannor.
Jul 3, 2012 10:42 AM - Matt H: 3.) One (and only one of you – so sort it out amongst yourselves) may choose as one of your starting items a +4 Sunblade named Faervian, one of the lost baneblades of Demron. Forged centuries ago by a powerful archmage, the baneblades are six legendary and unique weapons. Only the most worthy heroes are permitted to wield them, and for your service to the people of Myth Drannor, you have been presented with Faervian. You are now considered to be affiliated with Myth Drannor.
Jul 3, 2012 10:42 AM - Matt H: 4.) Everyone needs to let me know ahead of time your Character Name, Race, Class, Deity (if any), Paragon Path and Epic Destiny, along with any choices you make regarding 1-3 above. They matter, and it would be easier if I could prep and didn’t have to sort it out at the table.
Jun 14, 2012 7:00 AM - Capt_Dan: I think I'll go in for this, Giants should just about be done...
Jun 14, 2012 12:50 AM - Jensen: that sounds awesome
Jun 14, 2012 12:18 AM - Tracy: Works amazing for me. :) Otherwise this starts on the last day of my vacation.
Jun 13, 2012 12:10 AM - Matt H: How does starting Monday, August 6 work for people?
Jun 11, 2012 10:03 AM - Matt H: Mondays are fundays! Also: I'm the worst at scheduling, and it helps to start the workweek with something to look forward to... If there's a consensus for another day, by all means.

Tracy: Pushing back a week is fine by me, if that works for others.
Jun 11, 2012 9:52 AM - James L: are Mondays your favorite or something?
Jun 11, 2012 9:40 AM - James L: oh man, oh man, so many games so little time, this is great
Jun 9, 2012 11:06 PM - Matt H: Dates/times are flexible...feel free to throw any preferences out there.
