Feb 13, 2013 6:29 PM - Connolly206: I am running about 5 minutes late. my apologies.
Feb 11, 2013 9:50 AM - Ross H: Correct - Weds at 7pm, Citi Center.
Feb 11, 2013 7:29 AM - Connolly206: Hey guys, just because our times changed a bunch I want to confirm, we plat again on Wed this week again correct?
Feb 9, 2013 12:28 PM - Connolly206:
Feb 5, 2013 10:06 PM - John McCullough: An elf wizard offers to join your party. He is of medium build, wears a finely made hooded robe, and his face is completely obscured by a carved and polished wooden mask. He says, "Greetings fellow travelers. You may address me as Leafdaw, though I have not yet made my true name. I would join my strength to yours in the interest of rebuilding the once-great Blingdenstone."
Feb 5, 2013 2:01 PM - Ross H: Okay, Blingdenstoners. We're on for tomorrow at Citi Center. Grandpagrinch, you're the only one I don't know - look for brown hair, a beard, glasses, and dice. Looking forward to venturing into the Underdark with y'all!
Jan 31, 2013 7:59 PM - Connolly206: On one random Sunday a young Absinthia was brought into his office have been caught trying to sneak out of sword camp into into the required polo shirt of golf camp... the rest is history
Jan 31, 2013 7:57 PM - Connolly206: Dad's name, well as you know ....is Tom Sensible. Tom was found as an infant outside the walls of a hafling village and raised by the local bank owners. As was the tradition in that village Tom was not given his adult name until he had begun to display his own personality, and as he was a foundling on his 14th birthday he was given both a new first and last name. When he was 15 he had been hired to be the official score keeper and actuary at the local golf camp.
Jan 31, 2013 3:46 PM - Lisa: LOL in the library . . . good job Connolly. So, you would have a different last name than mine, cause your mom, Absinthia Moses, would have lost the Moses part. What's your Dad's name? When Absinthia was young, I made her go to sword camp every summer, but all she wanted to do was go to golf camp. I did everything I could to raise her right, I cut her skirts really short, I made her get a tattoo of the first animal she slaughtered, I even stopped paying any attention to her in her tweens.etc
Jan 31, 2013 3:05 PM - Connolly206: Yeah. I hate the hell out of those SOB. They were the first generation of "insert your last name of choice here" to not be adventurers. They are totally against the life style. By the way Dad was a dwarf/Mom a halfling would that work? They put you in a home, and me in a boarding school for accountants.
Jan 31, 2013 2:59 PM - Lisa: While I am at it, if anyone wants in on my Fiasco larp on feb. 4 and/or feb. 12th @ 6:30 mail me at Lizzy4Pressy

.com
The house is full atm, but I'm experimenting with audience participation.
Jan 31, 2013 2:57 PM - Ross H: I cannot wait for this.
Jan 31, 2013 2:56 PM - Lisa: Connolly, sounds good. Can we both hate your parents though? And you might have to be a halfling.
Jan 30, 2013 4:53 PM - Connolly206: Lisa clearly this would have to be okay with you, but if you run as grandma I would like to be a barbarian overprotective grandson trying to convince you to retire. meanwhile my dual role of protector and berserker would fit in nicely. I would start trying to defend then if anyone hit you I would start to rage.
Jan 30, 2013 2:54 PM - Lisa: If I can't think of anything, my character will be Grandma again.
Jan 30, 2013 1:31 PM - AVacc: Guys - I am going to drop out of this for now - I have a bit of a conflict - I will keep an eye on it - if you don't pick up another player I will rejoin - Sorry for the confusion.
Jan 30, 2013 12:59 PM - grandpagrinch: I've been playing D&D 4e for about a year now, and this will be my first time playing D&D Next
Jan 30, 2013 12:56 PM - Ross H: Everyone, when you get a chance, post a couple words about your character - who you are, what you do, etc. Thanks!
Jan 30, 2013 12:56 PM - Ross H: Yup! BTW, grandpagrinch - I think you're the only one playing I haven't met. Have you played much D&D before? D&D Next?
Jan 30, 2013 12:55 PM - grandpagrinch: Is the game taking place at Citigroup center?
Jan 29, 2013 12:10 PM - James L: On those martial dice... Mike Mearls on twitter: https://twitter.com/FluxFrog/status/284730014895849472 says even if a fighter spends them to do damage, he also can spend them to reduce damage on his Reaction, since it's a different "turn" its the monster's "turn". (Note you only get 1 reaction)
Jan 29, 2013 9:53 AM - Ross H: Thanks, James. Use the new packet if it's convenient, but I wouldn't worry if you've already prepped things with the old one.
Jan 29, 2013 9:46 AM - James L: Not much changed in the new packet, mainly addition of Barbarian, and clarification on Cleric, Monk, some rules, and some spells. I would use the new packet simply because of the clarifications and the Barbarian. The Bestiary and the adventures didn't change at all.
Jan 29, 2013 9:06 AM - John McCullough: Hey, there's a new playtest packet from January 28th. Should we use that one, or the one from December?
Jan 28, 2013 5:48 PM - Ross H: OK, sounds like we have a plan. Rock & roll.
Jan 28, 2013 4:47 PM - AVacc: That works :)
Jan 28, 2013 4:41 PM - Connolly206: I should be good for all of those
Jan 28, 2013 4:38 PM - John McCullough: 6th and 13th is great for me.
Jan 28, 2013 4:25 PM - Lisa: The 6th and the 13th work for me.
Jan 28, 2013 4:19 PM - Ross H: Well, wait - we have two conflicts right now - Art can't play Tuesday the 5th, and Lisa can't play Tuesday the 12th. But it sounds like Wednesday the 6th and 13th may work? Let me know if that's a problem for anyone, but I think that may work for everyone, which would be great as we have a fairly small group at this point.
Jan 28, 2013 3:53 PM - Lisa: AVacc, I should drop rather than you. I'm the one with the conflict.
Jan 26, 2013 2:39 PM - grandpagrinch: Both days works for me
Jan 25, 2013 11:49 AM - AVacc: The 5th is actually my Wife's Birthday - Sorry to be a bother - I can drop out if it's a problem.
Jan 25, 2013 11:35 AM - Connolly206: SVery close james. It was New Years in paris drinking a.very dark Sherry, but drunk in a port style glass. Great recognition skills from a very small photo. Color me impressed.
Jan 25, 2013 9:58 AM - James L: Is that a glass of Tawny Port? @Connolly206
Jan 25, 2013 9:56 AM - Ross H: So we could do Tuesday the 5th and then Weds the 13th, sounds like? Art & grandpagrinch, would that work for y'all? I'm inclined to do that, as I like the group we have here!
Jan 25, 2013 8:39 AM - John McCullough: I could play Wednesday the 13th.
Jan 24, 2013 3:56 PM - Connolly206: Wed would be fine with me.
Jan 24, 2013 3:54 PM - Ross H: We're still far enough out I wouldn't mind skipping a week or moving to Wednesdays or something like that. What do other folks' schedules look like?
Jan 24, 2013 3:41 PM - Lisa: I have made a foolish mistake. I am running a play-test of Fiasco (modified by the maker) on Feb. 12. I should drop out, unless for some reason you want to take a break that week and play this Fiasco mod. It's very theatrical--or there will be so many people you will end up being minor characters/audience members. Anyway, sorry about that. Ross, just shoot me a reply and tell me what you'd like me to do.
Jan 14, 2013 2:30 PM - AVacc: Hit me with a Blingdenstone. Why don't you hit me with a Blingdenstone? Ca'mon and it me with a Blingdenstone... Fire AWAAAAAYYYY!!!!
Jan 14, 2013 2:29 PM - Ross H: Gold rains down from the ceiling on AVacc.
Jan 14, 2013 2:26 PM - Ross H: Bonus treasure will be awarded to those who come up with brief artistic displays (e.g. a song or poem) about the rise and fall of Blingdenstone. Bonus bonus treasure who choose to create an 80s-style rock ballad which uses the word "Blingdenstone" in the chorus.
Jan 13, 2013 11:18 PM - John McCullough: I'll roll my own, but not sure what yet.
Jan 13, 2013 1:19 PM - Lisa: Ross, I'm playing a Next game now with the pre-gen halfling rogue. I'll probably stick with it unless I get bored or creative. I think I'm getting the hang of that version enough to create a character if you prefer.
Jan 11, 2013 4:46 PM - Matt L.: Just realized the other campaign I signed up for starts on the same day, so I'll be withdrawing from this one.
Jan 11, 2013 4:38 PM - Ross H: I'm really looking forward to this! I've only played a relatively limited amount of D&D Next so far, but I'm really excited to run it for y'all. Fill in if you're planning on creating your own character or using one of the pre-gens, and let me know if you have any questions!
