Jan 14, 2013 5:56 PM - Frank: not my fault my strikers were on vacation
Jan 14, 2013 12:29 AM - MarcR: Rob, what're you waiting for? Post the XP already! Oh, wait, I'm supposed to do that. You each got 300 xp, it would have been higher if you had beaten the Hobgoblins in the last encounter.
Jan 13, 2013 7:57 PM - Frank: thats funny bro....btw exp exp..
Jan 13, 2013 2:26 PM - Hartke: I had a the great time yesterday playing with you guys - thanks a lot!
See you all in the next session.
Keep cool and don't get burnt until then... ;)
Jan 11, 2013 10:17 PM - MarcR: Kent, you don't need to change anything, but you're sort of a higher type of elf, and from a mighty human empire, instead of the more rustic ordinary elves that raised Frank.
Jan 11, 2013 9:34 PM - kentmagus: 1. Thank you for the offer. I currently have it in a notebook. I'll get your email at the game, transfer the relevant portions of the character sheet to a .pdf and email it to you, Frank. How's that?

2. As a Vyalian elf, does that mean I change the character mechanically to an elven character or is it merely conceptually?

3. The location for Citigroup is usually 153rd E 53rd St inside the atrium.

Jan 11, 2013 9:18 PM - Hartke: Hey, where's the game taking place? And time?
And can you guys give me the address and a cell phone in case I can't find you all?
Jan 11, 2013 8:34 PM - MarcR: Starting at noon, a human raised by Elves is probably from Alfheim Town, the capital of Alfheim. Most residents are human.
Jan 11, 2013 6:55 PM - Frank: and my background in character builder is raised by elves
Jan 11, 2013 6:54 PM - Frank: im a human and this game starts at 10 or 12
Jan 11, 2013 6:44 PM - Hartke: As I said, I don't remember almost anything about Mystara, so any background that allows me to be ignorant about the world will do fine!
Good thing I'm CHA not INT I guess!
As for alignment, do youhave anything in mind or any restrictions MarcR?
Jan 11, 2013 6:39 PM - MarcR: That leaves the cleric, what race do you want to be, Frank? I can come up with an interesting background if you want me to.
Jan 11, 2013 6:37 PM - MarcR: The sorceror would almost certainly be from Glantri, as Alphatian magic users would likely not be welcome in Karameikos.
Jan 11, 2013 6:35 PM - MarcR: Wade we know, or think we know, is from the Five Shires, probably in Karameikos for adventure.

Jan 11, 2013 6:35 PM - MarcR: Rob would probably be Thyatian too, perhaps you guys met up on the road, heading into Karameikos to find adventure.
Jan 11, 2013 6:34 PM - MarcR: I'm figuring out possible backgrounds for you guys. No one has to use what I come up with, of course. Kent, Mystara predates the creation of Eladrin, but I can imagine you as a Vyalian elf, from northwest Thyatis.
Jan 10, 2013 3:59 PM - Frank: Kent i have a printer if you want me to print out a bladesinger for you so you dont have to use that old paper you always have
Jan 10, 2013 9:32 AM - Rob R: Great. I'm leaning towards a "human" cavalier of valor from an old disgraced noble line - he's the last of his lineage and is looking to right the wrongs committed by his ancestors.
Jan 9, 2013 11:54 PM - Frank: No prob i made a cleric and will have those skills covered
Jan 9, 2013 9:54 PM - Rob R: Frank - can you play a wisdom based (primary or secondary) so we can have perception and insight?
Jan 9, 2013 9:39 PM - Rob R: The bladesinger will have the knowledge covered.
Jan 9, 2013 9:39 PM - Rob R: It's safe to assume that the thief will have thievery.
Jan 9, 2013 9:37 PM - Rob R: The sorcerer is charisma based and has the social skills covered.
Jan 9, 2013 9:19 PM - Rob R: Also, you realize this is 4e right?
Jan 9, 2013 9:18 PM - Rob R: @ Hartke - I edited a human fire sorcerer and gave him a raven familiar. You'll have to wait for any enchantment spells until probably second level.
Jan 9, 2013 6:50 PM - Frank: so im gonna go with the cleric since we need a leader
Jan 9, 2013 5:34 PM - Hartke: Thanks Rob - don't mean to be picky, but please get me a high constitution, enchantments + fire spells and the raven familiar, OK?
Thanks a lot! ;)
Jan 9, 2013 5:14 PM - Wade: I'm calling BS on all my talk of non-optimization! What really matters is contributing to the well being of the party. I'll bring an alternate to see what works best.
Jan 9, 2013 5:00 PM - Frank: i really wanted to play either a scout or bladesinger but we have a sorcerer, a thief and bladesinger so looks like we r short a leader and defender any take on this rob? you know me i dont mind being the leader if you want to be a tank/striker
Jan 9, 2013 4:11 PM - Rob R: Hartke - I'll bring a pregen sorcerer. Kent already is bringing a Bladesinger (which is a controller).
Jan 9, 2013 2:58 PM - Wade: Oh, I'm not making anything broken. Thieves tend to have pretty good damage output :) I'm just talking along the lines of picking feats with more flavorful combat options rather than the boring d8 backstab by default.
Jan 9, 2013 2:27 PM - Hartke: Hi everyone! I just learned I joined this game!!! :)
I've played AD&D in Mystara many years ago, so it's safe to say I know nothing about the setting.
Thus I guess my character will be a stupid-never-saw-the-wilderness-city-commoner turned wizard or sorcerer. Any pre-gen will do fine...
Jan 9, 2013 2:24 PM - grandpagrinch: I was looking forward to this game but I have Recieved a new Work assignment that will keep from playing for the near future
Jan 9, 2013 1:35 PM - MarcR: I recommend optimizing. It can be tricky balancing old school set ups with 4e characters. It is assumed that 4e characters kick a lot of butt, and that goes into conversion techniques.
Jan 9, 2013 1:08 PM - Wade: I think I'll go with a halfling thief from the five shires... or should I call myself a burglar?
Also, I think I might do something crazy and build him without first eyeing the optimized combat options and see if he's still viable. Fair warning...
Jan 9, 2013 12:48 PM - MarcR: We have our roster set, so everyone please post what you'd like to play, so I can work out some background details, thanks!
Jan 9, 2013 12:45 PM - MarcR: Nile, thanks for letting us know, sorry to learn of your tech issues. Perhaps you can make a guest appearance at a future session!
Jan 9, 2013 2:07 AM - Nileoc: Hey guys, sorry for the no correspondence, I've been technologically out of commission (computer broke, phone broke). I can't make this, so go ahead and give my spot up.
Jan 8, 2013 5:54 PM - kentmagus: Is going to be a eladrin bladesinger if the opportunity arises.
Jan 8, 2013 5:14 PM - Frank: im stuck between and ranger scout and bladesinger
Jan 6, 2013 1:45 AM - MarcR: The adventure will start in Kelvin, in Karameikos. For this setting, the most unusual classes and races may not be appropriate. But I can find a way to make most characters work.
Jan 6, 2013 1:42 AM - MarcR: Wade and Grandpagrinch haven't seen this yet, please look at http://pandius.com/guide/KnownWorld.jpg and http://pandius.com/guide/index.html to see where this will take place.
Jan 6, 2013 1:41 AM - MarcR: Kent, and anyone else, fyi, I'm giving Joe and Nile until Wednesday to sign up. If they don't, I'll open it up to you and others.
Jan 3, 2013 12:28 PM - Rob R: I sent him an e-mail. Maybe I have a different address than the one you used. I have nothing for Joe.
Jan 3, 2013 12:21 AM - Frank: some1 try to get in touch with nile let him know whats up here
Jan 1, 2013 11:44 PM - Wade: Just notoced this. Thanks for thinking of me!
Dec 30, 2012 1:03 PM - Frank: ive tried ti message nile and wade and joe but got no response
Dec 29, 2012 1:16 AM - MarcR: I don't want to exclude anyone from this, but the plan for it was first discussed at the last meeting of Rob's Scepter Tower sessions. So I do want those who were there to have a chance to sign up, if they wish to. For that reason, I'm delaying just a bit more in approving players, sorry for any confusion.
Dec 28, 2012 11:32 PM - Frank: I made a lvl 1 rogue and cleric so I have no problem playing either for the team
Dec 26, 2012 12:06 PM - MarcR: Yes, the plan is to start at 1. I have an information packet I can send to those who sign up, telling about the world. It can help you figure out what character class and race to play.
Dec 26, 2012 11:07 AM - Rob R: I see it says level 1 to 4. What level will we be atarting at - 1?
Dec 26, 2012 1:55 AM - MarcR: This won't be the Forgotten Realms, but rather, my own take on the OD&D Mystara world, seen through the prism of 4E. I hope it will be a nice change from the overly-familiar formula of 4E LFR modules. I forsee meeting on Saturdays, every 2 or 3 weeks until the goals have been met.
Dec 26, 2012 1:52 AM - MarcR: The ultimate direction will depend on the choices of the players. I know how it begins, and I'm ready for where it can go, but the order of events will be determined in play. Some of you know the crazy situations I can come up with, and I will have plenty of surprises.
Dec 26, 2012 1:51 AM - MarcR: I want to do something like what RobR did this past summer and fall. It would be an extended set of adventures, with the same core players, session after session. I have loads of old-school and retro material, that I'll be combining with my own ideas into a set of adventures that will be full of political intrigue. These will be a bit like the Eltergard mods for LFR, where the players have to choose factions to support, or perhaps manage to deal successfully with more than one.
