Oct 12, 2013 11:20 AM - Lance: And I can't figure out how to leave. Sigh.
Oct 12, 2013 11:18 AM - Lance: So something came up 15 minutes ago, again. Two weeks I'm going to miss. I'm going to step down and let someone on the waitlist join. It's not fair for me to be busy every time. See you guys in a different campaign!
Oct 9, 2013 7:39 PM - macman: Just so everyone knows our next game is at the same place but at 1pm.
Oct 5, 2013 2:24 PM - Dorrin: Running late. M train is not kind
Oct 5, 2013 2:24 PM - Dorrin: Running late. M train is not kind
Oct 5, 2013 1:16 PM - John Parisi: If anyone has extra dice id love to borrow some. Also willing to puchase a set from someone.
Oct 5, 2013 1:16 PM - Meriru: Ajawa and I will be a bit late--didn't realize the 1 was not running today.
Oct 5, 2013 11:35 AM - macman: I will show up about a half hour early today since it is our first session.
Oct 4, 2013 10:48 PM - macman: John. Let's try to keep things simple. We'll have just 2 traits. If people haven't created characters I have pregens, but I suspect a bit of the first session will be about getting our characters going.
Oct 4, 2013 10:47 PM - macman: Lance, if you want to star next week that is just fine. I understand that life sometimes makes things complicated. See you next session.
Oct 4, 2013 6:57 PM - John Parisi: Sounds good! will you be there a bit early to review character etc?

also, whats the rule on traits? I keep reading online that campaign traits typically count as a third trait when selected, but that it's up to the DM if we can actually have 3 or if we need to stick with just 2.
Oct 4, 2013 6:49 PM - Lance: I know this is terribly last minute, but my job (I work with an afterschool program) just told me I need to help with a parade tomorrow, which will most likely end at 3:00 to 3:30. It will still take me an hour and 30 minutes to arrive up there, at least. Is it ok that I am still in the game? There will be no problems next week. If you would rather me leave, I can still do so. I don't want to cause too many problems.
Oct 4, 2013 5:23 PM - macman: Alright guys. I will see you all tomorrow! Look for me. I will be wearing a Zelda hat so you can find me.
Oct 4, 2013 2:04 PM - Dorrin: Anyone having trouble with characters?
Oct 3, 2013 8:01 PM - ajawa: This party looks in dire need of grit and muscle! I am bringing a fairly traditional half-orc barbarian, Zdetter Greatlaugh.
Oct 3, 2013 3:22 PM - macman: Okay guys. Just so you all know the RSVPs for the game will close soon. If you are not going to be able to commit to a long campaign that will span many weeks and meet on an almost weekly basis, please remove yourself from the list. We have a lot of people who would like to play.
Oct 2, 2013 11:19 PM - Dorrin: Playing Dorrin Liadon - Elven wizard/archer
Oct 2, 2013 11:10 PM - macman: I'd personally rather that we stuck with the core races.
Oct 2, 2013 9:15 PM - John Parisi: Last question! Are we able to use races from the advanced race guide? was going Human, but then saw Aasimar! Aasimars are humans with a significant amount of celestial or other good outsider blood in their ancestry. so should be able to fit in like a human would
Oct 2, 2013 6:35 PM - John Parisi: Definitely a cleric for me. Some sort of straight caster. Ill work him into sandpoint. My domain is travel would I be able to incorporate him into sandpoint as a short term resident?
Oct 2, 2013 5:41 PM - macman: I also wanted to let you guys know that an important part of your character is that they should be a denizen of Sandpoint http://pathfinder.wikia.com/wiki/Sandpoint. This will be an important part of the back story for your character to make them fit in with the campaign. I am really looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday!
Oct 2, 2013 5:40 PM - macman: Okay guys! It's less than a week away from our first game. I am excited and I hope all of you are as well. I just wanted to ask people to think about what characters they are going to be so that we can have relatively little prep time before the game and get down to playing.
Oct 1, 2013 12:23 PM - macman: Firstly, I have never played with a point buy before. That being said I read up on it and I am not opposed to a 15 point buy. Go for it!
Oct 1, 2013 9:54 AM - John Parisi: I know you said that we were rolling 4d6 drop the lowest for abilities, but wondering if we could do the point buy. I got a great idea on a back story for my cleric but it would really help to have some cruddy strength and con. would we be able to use a 15 or 20 point buy?
Sep 28, 2013 9:19 PM - Meriru: I've rolled up an archaeologist bard for this group.
Sep 23, 2013 9:07 AM - macman: Thanks Lance. I just wanted to remind everyone that of the purpose of this adventure. This is a campaign that is supposed to take your character from level 1-20. I am planning to run this game regularly on Saturdays and am looking for committed members who will be able to show up at least most of the time. If you are not looking for a game like this please take yourself off the list as there is a sizable waiting list for this game.
Sep 21, 2013 5:08 PM - Lance: Just a side note, but if you are on the waitlist (or in the group for that matter) and don't mind coming down to Brooklyn, I need players for a campaign of Hell on Earth. The short version: Post-apocalyptic Genre + Cowboys + Indians + Zombies + Mutants + Cyborgs + Radioactive Wizards + The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse + Tentacles. It uses the Savage Worlds system, which is very quick and easy to pick up and (usually) lends itself to fast play. At the least, it'll keep you busy.
Sep 21, 2013 10:23 AM - John Parisi: Perfect, going to be a cleric!
Sep 21, 2013 9:26 AM - macman: Yes. As it said on the meetup, I am looking for people who will want to meet regularly to play through a campaign.
Sep 21, 2013 3:45 AM - John Parisi: This will end up being more than one meetup right?.
Sep 19, 2013 6:33 PM - David Scott: I would be playing a fighter if I get in.
Sep 19, 2013 7:55 AM - John Parisi: Might go cleric again. Ill figure it out today
Sep 18, 2013 7:59 PM - macman: Okay, so we have a Wizard and a Witch. What else are people interested in playing?
Sep 16, 2013 8:52 AM - Lance: I'm the Witch. You are going to play with a bona-fide Southerner for this game, so be warned.
Sep 16, 2013 12:19 AM - Dorrin: I'm posting some characters here if anyone wants to take a look: http://sdrv.ms/15wwDJx
Sep 15, 2013 11:33 PM - Dorrin: I'll be going the Wizard route this time around.
Sep 15, 2013 10:43 PM - Michael DeFelice: I'm bringing a monk I'm excited about :)
Sep 12, 2013 7:04 PM - macman: Meriru, sorry but at the moment we are up to the six people. I really do not want to have more than six people in the party. I will keep you in mind though if someone drops off the waiting list.

I hope you understand.
Sep 12, 2013 6:56 PM - Meriru: <--- Here with Ajawa (Alice)
Sep 12, 2013 2:06 PM - macman: Okay guys. This game is full. I do encourage people though you have not gotten into it to join the short one shot I am running on the 21st and to be on the waiting list for this game, as spaces may open up. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 5th!
Sep 12, 2013 1:58 PM - Dorrin: I completely misundestood about the second game. I'll re-join this one. I'm fine with either (or both)
Sep 12, 2013 1:08 PM - macman: Okay. Tell your friend to make an account so I can approve him/her.
Sep 12, 2013 12:26 PM - ajawa: We (I'm hoping you noticed on meetup that there's two of me?) have played a fair bit of pathfinder, so we're happy to come with characters fully made.

So, should we roll abilities in order, or assign six numbers to six abilities? In other words, roll first, or think out the character first?
Sep 12, 2013 12:06 PM - macman: PCGen is really awesome. It's great to use.

I'd like us to think about what characters we want to play. I know John wants to play a cleric. Like I said, I have pregens for all the core classes and races.

It would be great if you did come in with a character, but if you want to take a few minutes to roll one at the beginning and need some help, I can do that too, especially if you haven't played Pathfinder/D&D before.
Sep 12, 2013 12:00 PM - ajawa: Since we're rolling ability scores, do you want to witness the rolls? Or should we roll on our own and come with complete character sheets, ready to play?

Also, are we rolling ability scores in order, or can we choose how to assign the six rolls to the six ability scores?
Sep 12, 2013 1:50 AM - Dorrin: Ive joined the other sept 21 st game
Sep 11, 2013 10:26 PM - Dorrin: I found a remarkably detailed character generator software: PCGen. It handles 3.5,PF,4e and can export to PDF

Sep 11, 2013 4:47 PM - macman: PalladiumSerpent, who are you on the meetup?
Sep 11, 2013 12:28 PM - macman: For ability scores you roll 4D6 and add the three best numbers together. If you want though this document will tell you everything about the game:
Sep 11, 2013 12:11 PM - macman: You can read more about this here:
Sep 11, 2013 12:10 PM - macman: Alright, a lot of people have asked me about character creation. Firstly I think I should mention that I have pregens for all the core classes & races.

Character creation in Pathfinder is basically the same thing as 3.5, although there are a handful of differences. Most of these vary tremendously based on class. The biggest one that applies to everyone is that "Most of the races now receive two +2 bonuses to their ability scores and one 2 penalty."
Sep 10, 2013 6:56 PM - Dorrin: quick question on character creation: what ability score method should we use? point buy 20/30, standard array, 5d6 drop 3, etc. (sorry, I haven't made a non-computer made character in ages)
